/ Marketing analytics agency tracking, data and decisions

A marketing analytics agency for numbers you trust.

A marketing analytics agency exists so your budget decisions rest on real data. Perfometrics sets up GA4, Google Tag Manager, server-side tracking and consent mode v2, connects your CRM, and builds dashboards that explain why Meta, Google and your shop never agree. Senior specialists only, and we implement it ourselves.

The specialist who audits your tracking is the one who would fix it.

/ Sound familiar?

Four platforms, four numbers. None of them right.

Every marketing team eventually sits through the meeting where Meta, Google Ads, GA4 and the shop all report different revenue. If that meeting happens every month, your measurement layer is broken.

Conversions that never arrive

Since consent banners and iOS privacy changes, a large share of conversions never reach your ad platforms. Bidding algorithms optimise on partial data and quietly make worse decisions.

A tag container nobody understands

Years of agencies and freelancers have left duplicate tags, broken triggers and a purchase event firing twice. Nobody wants to touch GTM in case something else breaks.

A consent setup that carries risk

Tags fire before consent, the banner passes no signals to Google, or consent mode is half configured. Under GDPR and the German DSGVO that is a legal risk as well as a data gap.

Dashboards nobody opens

Reports pull from five sources with five definitions, so every number needs explaining. The team stops trusting them and goes back to gut feeling and platform screenshots.

Good measurement is boring: events fire once, consent is respected, the CRM talks to the ad platforms and everyone reads the same number.

/ What we set up

Our marketing analytics services, layer by layer.

Measurement is a stack, and each layer depends on the one below. We work from data collection up to reporting, so conversion tracking is solid before anyone builds a dashboard on top of it.

GA4 setup and Tag Manager clean-up

Our marketing analytics agency work usually begins with a GA4 setup audit and a Google Tag Manager clean-up. We document every tag, remove duplicates, rebuild ecommerce or lead events to spec and agree a test process before anything is published.

Why it matters: one purchase event firing twice inflates revenue in every report and teaches bidding algorithms the wrong lesson.

What you get
  • Full tag inventory with owner, purpose and firing rules
  • GA4 ecommerce events built to the recommended schema
  • Lead events carrying form, value and source parameters
  • Internal traffic filters, retention and cross-domain set correctly
  • Key events chosen deliberately, not every click counted
  • A preview, debug and publish routine your team can follow

/ How it works

From messy data to clear decisions.

Most tracking projects take weeks, not months. Here is how one normally runs, from audit to a setup your own team can maintain.

1Days 1 to 2

Tracking audit

We review GA4, GTM, consent, ad platform conversions and CRM links, and compare platform numbers with your shop or CRM. You get a written audit within 48 hours.

You get: a ranked list of gaps and what each one costs you.

2Week 1

Measurement plan

Together we agree which events, conversions and metrics matter, how each is defined and where it gets reported. That document becomes the spec for everything after.

You get: one measurement plan everyone signs off.

3Weeks 1 to 3

Build and test

We rebuild containers, set up server-side tracking and consent, connect the CRM and test every event in every consent state before publishing. First fixes go live within two weeks of kickoff.

You get: data you can verify, not just hope is right.

4Week 4 onward

Report and maintain

Dashboards go live, your team gets a walkthrough and full documentation, and we watch for broken tags after site releases. Ongoing analysis and monthly reviews are optional.

You get: numbers your team actually uses to decide.

/ Results

Better data, then better results.

These figures come from a combined programme for a B2B services client: search, site conversion and paid media. Analytics doesn't win leads on its own, so we don't credit it with these results. It is what lets a team prove which work does.

/ Is this for you?

When a marketing analytics agency is worth it.

✓A great fit if you are

  • Spending real money on ads and unsure which numbers to believe
  • Moving to server-side tracking or finishing a half-done GA4 migration
  • Generating leads through forms and want platforms optimising for qualified ones
  • Selling to EU customers and need consent mode and GDPR handled properly
  • Working with several agencies and want one neutral source of truth

✕Probably not a fit if you

  • Want a full data warehouse or BI platform. We focus on marketing measurement, not company-wide data engineering
  • Want tracking that works around consent. We only build setups that respect user choices
  • Have very little traffic so far. A basic GA4 setup is enough until volume grows
  • Only need a one-off report. We build measurement that lasts; browse our marketing services for other help

/ Free checklist

A tracking health check you can run today.

You don't need an agency to spot most measurement problems. Work through these checks in an afternoon. If more than two fail, your marketing decisions are resting on weak data.

01

Compare orders or leads across sources

Take last month's purchases or qualified leads from your shop or CRM and compare them with GA4 and each ad platform. Small gaps are normal. Large or growing gaps usually point to broken tags rather than attribution differences.

02

Check for duplicate purchase events

In GA4, look at purchase events per transaction ID. Anything above one means a tag fires twice, often because a theme app and GTM both send the same event.

03

Test your consent banner

Open your site in a private window, decline cookies and watch Tag Assistant or the network tab. If marketing tags still fire, or consent mode signals are missing, fix that before anything else.

04

Look at event match quality

In Meta Events Manager, check event match quality and deduplication for purchases or leads. Low scores or no server events mean Meta sees far less than it could.

05

Follow one lead into the CRM

Submit a test enquiry through a paid ad link. Does the CRM record source, campaign and click ID? If not, you can never send qualified outcomes back to the ad platforms.

06

Ask who owns your accounts

Check that GA4, GTM, ad accounts and the consent tool sit under your company, not a former agency or a freelancer's personal login. Recovering them later is slow and painful.

Want this done for you? Our free audit covers every check above. How clean data feeds paid search is covered on our Google Ads agency page.

/ Your options

Who should own your tracking?

Tracking tends to end up with whoever is nearest. Each option has real strengths. Here is a fair view of the trade-offs.

/ Questions

Questions about tracking and analytics.

What does a marketing analytics agency do?
It makes sure your marketing data is complete, accurate and actually used. That covers GA4 and Tag Manager, server-side tracking, consent mode, CRM connections and dashboards, plus the analysis that turns them into budget decisions. Our full list of marketing services shows how analytics fits with paid, SEO, CRO and email.
Why do Meta, Google Ads, GA4 and Shopify show different numbers?
Each uses its own attribution window, model and data source. Meta counts view-through conversions, Google Ads credits its own clicks, GA4 applies data-driven attribution to consented sessions, and Shopify records every order. Some difference is normal. Large gaps usually mean missing server-side events, consent problems or duplicate tags, all of which can be fixed.
Is server-side tracking worth it?
For most brands spending seriously on ads, yes. Server-side GTM and conversion APIs recover signals lost to browsers and ad blockers, raise match quality and give you control over what data leaves your site. It adds a small hosting cost and needs careful deduplication. For very small sites, a clean browser setup is often enough.
Will our GA4 setup be GDPR and DSGVO compliant?
We build setups that respect consent: tags blocked until permission is given, consent mode v2 passing the right signals, and IP handling and data retention configured. We work with your consent platform and your legal advisers, who sign off the legal side. We never build tracking designed to get around a user's choice.
How long does a marketing analytics agency take to fix tracking?
A typical GA4, GTM and consent rebuild takes two to four weeks, with first fixes live within two weeks of kickoff. Server-side tracking and CRM integrations add time, depending on your platforms and developer access. You get a realistic timeline along with the free audit, before you commit to anything.
Can you import offline conversions from our CRM?
Yes. We capture click IDs on your forms, map your CRM stages and send qualified leads and closed deals back to Google Ads, Meta and LinkedIn with values. For B2B paid media this is often the biggest single lever available. We work with HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce and other CRMs that offer an API or scheduled exports.
Do you also run the ads, or only the tracking?
Both are possible. Some clients hire us for marketing analytics services alone and keep their ad agency. Others want tracking and media under one digital marketing agency so data and decisions stay connected. Our Google Ads agency and conversion rate optimisation agency pages show how that data gets used.
Who owns the setup if we stop working together?
You do, from day one. GA4 properties, GTM containers, server containers, dashboards and documentation all live in your accounts, with admin access for your team. If you end the engagement, nothing needs migrating or handing back, and your team has what it needs to maintain it.
